Job Description
Position Overview Highland Lakes Real Estate Holdings LLC (“HLREH”) is seeking a highly capable Director of Construction Operations to oversee and manage daily construction operations across multiple active projects, properties, crews, subcontractors, and development initiatives. This is a senior leadership role for an experienced construction operations professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, can manage multiple moving parts simultaneously, and can independently drive production, accountability, scheduling, coordination, and field execution. The ideal candidate is not simply a skilled tradesperson or working foreman. This role requires an operational leader capable of managing people, schedules, logistics, subcontractors, equipment, timelines, inspections, materials, and site execution without constant oversight. The Director of Construction Operations will work directly with ownership and will play a critical role in helping scale and stabilize construction operations across HLREH’s growing portfolio of projects and developments. Core ResponsibilitiesConstruction Operations Management Oversee daily operations across multiple active construction projects and job sites Coordinate labor crews, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and deliveries Ensure all jobsites remain active, organized, productive, and properly staffed Manage project timelines, sequencing, and schedule execution Identify bottlenecks, delays, conflicts, and operational risks before they become critical issues Ensure projects remain on track with production goals and deadlines Site Leadership & Accountability Conduct regular site visits and field inspections Enforce quality standards and workmanship expectations Maintain jobsite cleanliness, safety, professionalism, and organization Hold crews and subcontractors accountable for timelines, attendance, communication, and performance Verify completion of work scopes prior to payment approvals or phase advancement Scheduling & Coordination Coordinate inspections, permitting schedules, municipal interactions, and trade sequencing Ensure materials, equipment, and labor are properly staged ahead of work execution Maintain centralized project scheduling and daily production awareness Coordinate with ownership regarding priorities, timelines, and strategic project planning Reporting & Communication Provide daily operational updates and field reports to ownership Document jobsite progress through photos, notes, and reporting systems Maintain visibility into project status, labor utilization, equipment deployment, and outstanding issues Communicate clearly and professionally with subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, tenants, and clients Equipment & Asset Oversight Oversee use, organization, maintenance coordination, and accountability of company equipment and tools Monitor equipment condition and identify upgrade or replacement needs Prevent unnecessary downtime, loss, misuse, or operational inefficiencies QualificationsRequired Experience 5+ years of construction management, superintendent, operations management, or field leadership experience Proven ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and crews Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and field operations Experience managing subcontractors, labor accountability, and project logistics Strong leadership and communication abilities Ability to independently solve problems and make operational decisions Preferred Backgrounds Candidates with experience in any of the following are strongly encouraged to apply: Commercial construction Multi-family construction Municipal or public works construction Excavation or utility construction Design-build operations Large-scale residential or mixed-use development Construction operations management Preferred Traits Highly organized and operationally disciplined Strong follow-through and accountability mindset Calm under pressure Excellent communicator Self-motivated and proactive Strong sense of urgency and ownership Able to lead teams while maintaining professionalism and structure Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Relocation assistance Work Location: In person
