Director, Global Cost Accounting Addison Group SoCal | Partnering with a Publicly Traded AI Infrastructure Leader Addison Group SoCal is partnering with a high-growth, publicly traded technology manufacturer that’s helping power the next generation of AI and hyperscale infrastructure . With double-digit year-over-year growth , this organization sits at the center of one of the most important technology buildouts of our time. They’re looking for a Director of Global Cost Accounting —a strategic, hands-on, systems-savvy leader ready to elevate cost visibility, drive operational excellence, and influence decision-making at the highest levels of the business. The Opportunity This is not a back-office accounting role. You’ll own and shape the global cost accounting function in a sophisticated SAP environment—spanning raw materials through finished goods across multiple manufacturing sites. You’ll report to the VP of Finance and partner directly with Operations, FP&A, and Supply Chain leadership , delivering insights that drive margin, efficiency, and growth. What You’ll Do Strategic Cost Leadership Architect and continuously refine enterprise-wide costing methodologies (materials, labor, overhead) Provide executive-level insights on gross margin, cost of sales, inventory trends, and production performance Act as a trusted advisor to manufacturing and business leaders on cost optimization and operational efficiency Financial Integrity & Reporting Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliations, and reserve strategies Ensure accurate, timely close processes and audit-ready financials Own and strengthen SOX-compliant internal controls across cost accounting Operational Partnership Lead deep-dive analysis on production and purchasing variances , driving root-cause resolution Guide make-vs-buy decisions, cost reduction strategies, and new product costing Partner cross-functionally to enhance inventory accuracy and risk management Systems & Process Excellence Champion SAP Product Costing and COPA , ensuring data integrity and scalability Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements Oversee cost allocations, activity rates, and planning cycles with precision Leadership & Influence Lead and develop a high-performing global cost accounting team Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration Represent cost accounting at the executive level , influencing strategic decisions What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field ( CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred ) 12+ years of progressive cost accounting and experience with ramping up plant operations Proven success in a complex, multi-site manufacturing environment (computer/electronics manufacturing a plus) Deep expertise in SAP Strong executive communication skills—you can turn complexity into clarity Track record of driving transformation across processes, systems, and controls Experience in a public company / SOX-regulated environment Compensation & Work Model Competitive base salary + bonus + equity upside Hybrid model: 4 days onsite at a California facility (Bay Area or Los Angeles region) Why This Role?
