DEFINITION: Skilled Administrator responsible for administrative oversight of culturally responsive curriculum, teaching, and learning within the District. Duties associated with this position will include coordinating curricular activities throughout the system, the coordination of professional development, collaborating with and supporting school leaders and teachers to enhance district academic and assessment activities, contributing to the Districts strategic planning efforts, supporting administrators and teacher leaders to analyze and improve instructional practices, assuring equity and cultural responsiveness goals are met, implementing district and school improvement plans in collaboration with ALT team, as well as monitoring and adherence to Federal, State and Local regulations, procedures, preparation of grants, and expenditure of funds. SUPERVISION: Works under the administrative direction of the Superintendent, functions independently and assumes direct accountability for district results related to Title 1, Title II, Title IV, teaching effectiveness, curriculum, implementation of RTI efforts, and professional development. Develops, interprets, and implements school department policies and procedures specifically related to curriculum and instruction. Exercises considerable judgment and independent initiative in establishing own work plan to accomplish short-term and long-term objectives.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Collaborates with curriculum teacher leaders, department chairs, and teacher teams to develop, maintain, and revise a culturally responsive district curriculum.Ensures the equitable implementation of evidence-based practices so that all students have access to effective reading and math instruction.Coordinates the assessment of learning for all students by working with principals, faculty, parents and other administrators to a) plan and implement learning outcomes, b) evaluate assessment processes for learning outcomes and program effectiveness; c) review and analyze assessment results, and d) coordinate implementation of changes as a result of these processes. Facilitates data-driven protocols to promote more equitable learning outcomes using state and local assessment data and the state accountability system for schools and districts. Ensures public access to up-to-date curricula for each subject area, grade level and/or course.Coordinates reporting systems for caregivers and their children to inform them their progress toward mastery of grade-level performance expectations.Conducts systematic reviews and analysis of curricula to support the district improvement plan and state curriculum frameworks.Supports department chairs and instructional staff in evaluating and selecting appropriate, effective, and unbiased textbooks, digital resources, and other instructional materials.Provides leadership in the development and the implementation of professional development to support the continuous learning of a diverse workforce.Provides teacher leadership training for department chairs and coaches.Monitors and works closely with Mentor/Mentee program consultant.Writes and administers Title 1, IIA, and IV Grants and other appropriate curriculum-related grants to improve learning opportunities for economically disadvantaged students and English learners.Serves as Title I Director and liaison for private school participation, budgeting, assessments, and Title-associated family engagement coordinator.Keeps the District updated regarding all information, research, legislation and resources related to Title 1, mentoring, and effective instruction.Plans, implements, and evaluates instructional programs with teachers and principals, including learning objectives, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques.Projects a positive image to the community.Performs other duties assigned by the Superintendent. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Masters of Education required. DESE Certification in Administrator: Supervisor/Director or Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent required. A minimum five years public school teaching and/or administration experience required.Grant writing experience preferred.
