Job Description
REPORTS TO : Deputy Superintendent/Chief Information Officer POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Deputy Superintendent and Chief Information Officer, the Director of Data and Assessment will oversee the performance measurement, data analysis reporting and areas of accountability for the entire district. The director will also serve as the educational liaison between the IT (Instructional Technology) department and instructional services. Through keen data-driven decision making practices this individual will help shape critical decisions related to administrative and instructional programs at the district, department and school based level. This individual will ensure that the district remains in compliance with board, state and federal policies in all areas related to the position. The Director of Data and Assessment will also be responsible for ensuring that all performance measurement, data practices and accountability measures identified in the district strategic plan are reported and analyzed with fidelity. FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB Essential Functions: Directs the analysis of assessment data from national, state and district assessments and prepares the data for presentation to the superintendent, assigned district staff and the broader public. Participates in monitoring all state and district accountability systems as it relates to student achievement and other student/district staff outcome data. Provides training and staff development for district staff in all areas related to data, performance measurement and accountability. Coordinates information to ensure state and federal compliance regarding student data district wide. Conducts in-service programs to keep personnel informed as to new developments in data, assessment and accountability. Serves as a consultant to the instructors in data processing in the vocational arts program. Responsible for the districts remote and distance learning platforms for all areas related to data, performance measurement and accountability. Provides accurate data for district stakeholders related to student achievement and other performance measures. Develops, trains, supervises, and evaluates employees under direct supervision Maintains a cooperative relationship and open communication with those holding similar positions in other districts in the region and state, to investigate and implement feasible data processing programs and technology. Develops plans and budgets for data, performance measurement and accountability expenditures. Manages data recordkeeping of all assessments and other related data needs for the district. Reports and prepares identified data for the district/state. Projects, shows trend analysis and shares results and predictions with district staff. Provides needed data (related to the identified position) for all superintendent and board requests. Performs other duties consistent with professional competence as may from time to time be assigned. Must be able to run, jump, walk, stand, sit, and lift. Marginal Functions: Attends Board of Education meetings, keeping the Board informed of school matters when assigned. Makes visits to schools and school functions to observe operations and receives input from students, staff and parents when assigned. Conducts meetings with identified staff related to the position. Participates and guides committees as designated by the Superintendent/designee. Attends meetings and events with community organizations. Performs other duties as designated by the Superintendent/Deputy Superintendent. Physical/Visual Activities or Demands: Standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing. Normal attention with clarity of vision at 20 inches or less as well as 20 feet or more, required. Light physical demand with regular lifting of very light to light (1 to 25 lbs.) items by hand. POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Required Certifications: Missouri School Administrator (Principal or Superintendent) Certification and/or a recognized data professional certification such as CDMP (CertifiedDataManagement Professional), SDS (Senior Data Scientist), CDAO-C (Chief Data andAnalyticsOfficer), or CIMP (Certified Information Management Professional).
