Advertised Job Summary: With the vision of supporting the values and mission of the Office of Civil Rights & Title IX, the Director of Incident Response, Education, and Compliance provides leadership for a centralized civil rights function that serves as a leading model in higher education. This position oversees institution-wide incident response and supportive measures for reports of discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct, while providing strategic oversight of education and compliance initiatives. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Civil Rights & Title IX, the Director ensures a coordinated, trauma-informed, and legally compliant response to civil rights concerns. The Director supervises incident response staff as well as the Education Specialist and Compliance Specialist, and is responsible for aligning operations across these functions to promote equitable access, consistency, and institutional effectiveness. Job Related Minimum Required Education And Experience: Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and at least 8 years of job related experience, including some prior management experience. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s, J.D., or Doctorate in related field; Related training or certification through a nationally recognized organization. Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams; Experience in higher education and centralized civil rights models; Experience with case management systems (e.g., Maxient). Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Extensive experience with Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, ADA, and related civil rights laws; Clery, FERPA). Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
