Job Description
Addington Place of Mount Pleasant is seeking a compassionate, experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing and care teams within our assisted living and memory care community in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing all clinical operations and nursing services, ensuring that each resident receives personalized, high-quality care that supports their physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being. You will guide the development and implementation of individualized care plans, monitor residents’ changing health needs, and collaborate closely with families, physicians, and other healthcare providers to coordinate services and maintain open, respectful communication. The Director of Nursing will supervise, mentor, and support nurses and caregivers, fostering a resident-centered, team-oriented culture that reflects our commitment to dignity, respect, and collaboration. You will oversee medication management, clinical documentation, and regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to state and federal guidelines as well as internal policies and best practices. Through consistent quality assurance and performance improvement efforts, you will lead initiatives to enhance resident outcomes, safety, and satisfaction, while promoting a positive, engaged work environment for staff. This role includes responsibility for infection prevention and control, emergency response oversight, and the development and delivery of training and education for the nursing and caregiving teams. You will participate in hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance evaluation, working closely with community leadership to ensure appropriate staffing and effective resource utilization. As Director of Nursing, you will serve as a visible, approachable leader—regularly present on the floors, actively engaged with residents and families, and committed to modeling compassionate, person-centered care in every interaction. At Addington Place of Mount Pleasant, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful daily impact on seniors’ lives by promoting comfort, safety, engagement, and independence in a warm, supportive environment. You will work alongside a collaborative leadership team that values integrity, open communication, and continuous improvement. This position is well suited for a nurse leader who is passionate about senior living and memory care, thrives in a hands-on, relationship-driven setting, and is eager to grow professionally while supporting residents, families, and staff within a close-knit community.
