Description Indiana Masonic Home Compass Park is looking to add a Director of Nursing for our Assisted living and independent living Team. Compass Park is a vast 320-acre community in the heart of Johnson County adjacent to Indianapolis. It is a vibrant community through all seasons and a place of beauty, rich in tall trees and winding footpaths. Director of Nursing – Assisted Living and Independent Living Position Summary The Director of Nursing for Assisted Living is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and coordination of nursing services within the Assisted Living and Independent Living areas of the community. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality resident care while maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations, facility policies, and clinical standards. The Director of Nursing serves as a compassionate leader, mentor, and advocate for residents and staff. Required Education, Experience, and Skills Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university. Must maintain a current and valid State Registered Nurse (RN) license and CPR certification. Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a hospital, long-term care, assisted living, or related healthcare setting. Strong supervisory, leadership, and management skills required. Must possess excellent clinical assessment and communication skills. Ability to lead, coach, and motivate nursing staff in a positive and professional manner. Must be a compassionate caregiver and experienced leader with a positive and outgoing personality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise Assisted Living and Independent Living nursing operations, including staff oversight, policy communication, performance evaluation, coaching, and disciplinary action when necessary. Conduct regular rounds to monitor resident activity and ensure the delivery of quality resident care. Monitor nursing care activities and documentation to ensure compliance with physician orders, care plans, facility policies, and established standards of care. Develop, implement, and maintain nursing care objectives, standards of nursing practice, and clinical procedures. Ensure the proper handling of resident, visitor, and staff emergencies and incidents occurring within the facility. Assist in developing and maintaining nursing service objectives, nursing policies and procedures, staffing plans, job descriptions, and systems for coordinating resident care services. Support and enforce all company safety and infection control policies, including the proper use of gait belts, mechanical lifts, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist in organizing, developing, and directing resident care services and nursing department operations. Attend Department Head meetings and collaborate with other departments to ensure coordinated resident care and services. Assist with the development and implementation of individualized resident care plans, including rehabilitative and restorative nursing activities. Oversee and coordinate all ASCEND activities and related processes. Promote a positive environment that supports resident dignity, independence, and quality of life. Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations and licensing requirements.
