What You’ll Be Doing In this role, you’ll serve as the strategic and operational leader of ONUG’s Engineering Operations team—overseeing telecom design and construction, managing project budgets and timelines, driving profitability, and ensuring on-time, high-quality service delivery across GIS, engineering, field operations, and project management. You’ll develop and support a high-performing team while providing technical leadership in OSP engineering, including CAD interpretation and training, field verifications, operational reporting, and fiber system analysis. You’ll also support sales through pricing and bidding efforts, oversee compliant invoicing and job-completion packages, and build strong relationships with customers, utilities, contractors, and governmental partners. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Operations team Deliver projects on time, on budget, and in alignment with quality standards Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction Select, evaluate, and price products and materials used for customer solutions Select, evaluate, price, and manage vendors and third-party partners Oversee and improve service delivery processes, including onshore/offshore collaboration Ensure accurate, compliant invoicing and job-submission packages Select, develop, train, and evaluate Operations team members Supervisory Responsibilities Provide continuous leadership and management of staff in direct reporting relationships. Select, hire, manage, develop, train, and evaluate team members to ensure strong performance and alignment with ONUG values. Conduct coaching, feedback, and performance management with clarity, fairness, and professionalism. When necessary, make tough personnel decisions — including corrective action or termination — with integrity and compassion. What you BringMinimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Civil preferred); substantial, relevant telecom engineering experience may be considered in lieu of the degree Demonstrated, successful leadership experience in OSP telecommunications operations Training and substantial hands-on experience in outside plant (OSP) engineering methods and procedures Functional knowledge of OSP principles and fiber systems Working knowledge of municipal and state construction permitting requirements and procedures Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to changing technology, tools, and processes Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
