Job Description
Position Purpose The Director of Regulatory Compliance and Enterprise Safety will oversee the Sr. Regulatory Compliance manager that provides regulatory support to all 3 verticals in addition to oversight of the Company’s safety programs. This position involves creating and enforcing company policies, standards, and procedures to comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Key Responsibilities This role works closely with senior leaders as a strategic partner to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations. Establishes compliance standards and designs improvements to internal control structures. Minimizes legal risks by understanding current and proposed legislation, enforcing regulations, recommending new procedures, and complying with legal requirements including: Develop and execute comprehensive policies, standards, and procedures to ensure organizational adherence to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, enhancing overall regulatory compliance across the company. Present regulatory updates to senior leadership as dictated by the business. Review and assess facility environmental reports to verify compliance with applicable regulations, recommending corrective actions and continuous improvements where necessary. Manage the acquisition and renewal process for environmental and related permits/licenses, actively engaging in modifications as required to align with business operational needs. Provide technical assistance staff on regulatory and compliance issues. Collaborate with compliance teams to address new and evolving compliance challenges related to the platform and strategic partnership needs. Work with Safety Department to manage and maintain Accident Rate Statistics and prepare reports on a monthly basis. Support Greenfield and Acquisition initiatives through onboarding tools and procedures. Direct Manager/Direct Reports: This role will report to the VP of Corporate Safety. This role will have 1-2 direct reports Travel Requirements: 10-15% of the time to various company and regulatory meetings Physical Requirements The Director of Regulatory Compliance and Enterprise Safety role primarily involves standard office-based functions, necessitating the ability to perform tasks in a professional office environment. This includes frequent sitting, standing, and walking to access and interact with various office equipment and tools, such as computers, telephones, and presentation materials. The role requires clear communication abilities, both in writing and verbally, to facilitate interaction with branch operational staff and external regulatory bodies effectively. Occasionally, light lifting, up to 10 pounds, may be required for documentation purposes. Visual acuity is necessary for reviewing documents and electronic communications. Working Conditions The Director of Regulatory Compliance and Enterprise Safety works in a dynamic hybrid environment, dividing time between a collaborative office space and remote work. This role requires a flexible professional who excels in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting and takes a proactive approach to meeting strict regulatory deadlines. The successful candidate must be able to prioritize tasks well and handle multiple projects at once to ensure compliance initiatives are completed on time across various regulatory areas. The position focuses on building strong partnerships with branch operations to promote a culture of compliance while enforcing company policies and regulatory standards. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Law, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in regulatory compliance management (Environmental or Safety) or a related role, with a focus on environmental and safety regulations. Proven track record of successfully managing regulatory compliance in a corporate setting. Experience working with federal, state, and local regulatory bodies. Strong understanding of Sara Title II reporting requirements. Expertise in navigating and applying for environmental permits/licenses and managing renewals and modifications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to interpret complex regulator
