Job Description
Director of Residential Services Position is classified as Exempt/Full Time Schedule: M-F 40 Hours Reports to Executive Director Wellspring Community is seeking a mission-driven, strategic leader to serve as our Director of Residential Services. This role is ideal for someone passionate about empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities while leading high-quality, person-centered residential programs. The Director will provide oversight, vision, and growth leadership for all residential services, ensuring strong operational performance, regulatory compliance, and meaningful community impact. Director of Residential Services The Director of Residential Services is responsible for the leadership, oversight, and growth of all residential services at Wellspring Community. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, person-centered supports in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while helping expand Wellspring’s residential programs and community partnerships. The Director also serves as the designated Home Care Agency Manager for Wellspring’s Class B Home Care Agency license in accordance with Colorado regulations. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and direction for all residential services programs Develop and implement strategic growth initiatives, including new homes and service models Oversee program quality, compliance, licensing, audits, and corrective action plans Manage departmental budgets, forecasting, and financial sustainability efforts Lead and support Residential Services leadership staff and promote a culture of accountability and collaboration Build relationships with community partners, referral sources, case management agencies, and state/county partners Monitor incidents, trends, and performance data to drive continuous improvement Participate as a member of Wellspring’s leadership team and support organizational initiatives Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Healthcare Administration, or related field required (Master’s preferred) 7–10 years of experience in residential or HCBS services 3–5 years of senior leadership or director-level experience Experience supervising direct care staff required Strong knowledge of HCBS regulations, Medicaid waivers, and person-centered practices preferred Demonstrated leadership, financial management, and strategic planning skills Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building abilities Additional Requirements Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between program sites Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems Ability to meet all background and employment requirements This posting is intended to provide a general overview of the position and is not a comprehensive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications.
