Job Description
Director of Sales Full-Time · On-Site, Eagan MN · Reports to CEO WHO WE ARE DOPE Marketing is one of the fastest-growing software and marketing companies in the Twin Cities. We built a platform DOPE 360, that allows local businesses to automate direct mail, print, and gifting from a single interface. We handle everything in-house: software, data, design, printing, and delivery. We started in home services, including roofers, HVAC companies, painters, and real estate agents,and that remains our core. We are actively expanding into new verticals including dental, restaurants, veterinary, fitness, and other local business categories. The market is wide open and we are moving fast. THE ROLE The Director of Sales is the most important hire we are making right now. You will own the full revenue function: strategy, execution, team leadership, and pipeline. You report directly to the CEO and have full authority over the sales organization from day one. You are inheriting a team of 11 across three functions: three demo reps, four account managers, and four print sales reps. The expectation is not to maintain what exists: to elevate it, build the structure around it, and grow it. We have the product, the pricing, and the market. What has been missing is a leader who knows how to turn all of that into consistent, scalable revenue. This role is for someone who leads from the front. You will have support on enterprise-level sales, but this is not a role where you delegate and manage from a distance. You are in it. If you have an existing network or book of business you can bring with you, that is a genuine advantage and something we actively welcome. Have the ability to expand to new verticals and managing some virtual employees. WHAT YOU’LL DO You will own the revenue number across all sales channels: demo, print, and account management, and be accountable to pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and close rate. You will build the sales playbook from the ground up: call tracks, objection handling, follow-up cadences, rep onboarding, and performance standards. This infrastructure does not exist in its current form. Building it is a core part of the job. Day to day, you will lead and coach your team, run pipeline reviews, and hold reps accountable to daily activity metrics. You will work closely with marketing and account management to tighten the handoff between first contact and ongoing revenue. You will recruit the next generation of sales talent, and you will have a direct voice in who joins this team. You will manage all of this through HubSpot: tracking activity, building reporting, and surfacing what leadership needs to know without being asked. Proactive communication up the chain is non-negotiable. If something is working or not working, we hear it from you first. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR We are looking for someone who has built a sales team before: not inherited one, not managed one someone else created. You have established structure where there wasn't any, and you have the results to show for it. You sell outcomes, not products. You know how to position ROI and results in front of a client, and you train your team to do the same. You have strong outbound fundamentals and have coached reps through cold outreach, call reviews, and pipeline discipline at the individual level. Minnesota-based or willing to be present locally is a requirement. This role demands proximity to the team and the floor. Direct mail, print, marketing services, home services, or local business vertical experience is a meaningful advantage. A network or existing book of business you can bring with you will be a real differentiator in how we evaluate candidates. Above all, you communicate proactively. You do not wait to be asked how things are going. You bring the update, the problem, and your recommendation before anyone has to chase you down. COMPENSATION Base Salary: $150,000 per year Performance Bonus: $40,000 per year, paid quarterly ( bonus assessed after 6 months of employment) Total On-Target Earnings: $190,000 BENEFITS & PERKS We take care of our team.
