Job Description
Summary: The Director, Organizational Transformation & Project Management role is responsible for advancing enterprise-wide execution, organizational alignment, performance excellence, and the successful delivery of strategic initiatives that support STA’s mission, strategic goals, and long-term vision. This role provides oversight for project and program management across the organization by establishing PMO strategy, governance, standards, and consistent execution of complex cross-functional initiatives while leading the organizational change management process and Baldrige Performance Excellence program. The Director partners closely with executive leadership and stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally, to translate strategic priorities into actionable portfolios that drive measurable value, operational excellence, organizational maturity, and mission impact within a healthcare environment. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Communication Provide executive-level reporting and insights on portfolio health, risks, financial performance, and resource utilization to senior leadership and governance bodies. Identify sources of resistance and disengagement, and design targeted interventions—communication, training, engagement, and reinforcement—to accelerate adoption. Establish transformation KPIs (adoption, proficiency, benefit realization) and report progress transparently to the executive team. Time Management Partner with executive leadership to define, prioritize, and manage the enterprise project and program portfolio, ensuring initiatives are aligned with strategic goals and organizational capacity. Attention to Detail Ensure all transformation and project activities are compliant with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and safety requirements and standards, including OPTN Policies, CMS Conditions for Coverage of Organ Procurement Organizations (both Outcome Requirements and Process Performance Measures), the Texas Revised Uniform Anatomical Gift Act, and the organization’s Corporate Code of Conduct. Problem-Solving Partners with project leaders to implement corrective and preventative action plans to reduce operational and regulatory risk in projects and transformation pathways. Accountability Establish and maintain PMO governance frameworks, standards, methodologies, and best practices to drive consistency, accountability, and transparency across all projects and programs. Conflict Resolution Serve as a change sponsor and coach for senior leaders, equipping them to lead their teams through ambiguity, redesigned workflows, and new technology rollouts. Coaching & Feedback Lead, mentor, and develop PMO leadership and staff, including managers, supervisors, coordinators, and support personnel. Leads, mentors, and coaches a team within the functional area of responsibility. Ensures staff education, competencies, and training programs support excellence and compliance. Collaboration & Influence Apply structured change management methodologies to sponsor, plan, and sustain enterprise change across clinical, operational, and administrative/support functions. Performance Management Oversees talent development, workforce planning, and succession strategies. Decision Making Drive data-driven governance by integrating data-informed decision-making into PMO and Change Management governance, using dashboards and analytics to guide prioritization and measure benefit realization. Process Improvement Apply structured change management methodologies to sponsor, plan, and sustain enterprise chance across clinical, operational, and administrative/supportive functions. Leadership Team & Culture Fosters a culture of empathy, accountability, innovation, and high performance. Strategic Thinking & Analytics Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the enterprise Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and regulatory requirements. Design and lead the multi-year transformation roadmap, aligning strategic priorities with CMS, performance tiers, OPTN policies, and evolving industry standards. Financial Acumen Ensure portfolio-level financial planning, forecasting, tracking, and reporting to guarantee optimal use of organizational resources.
