Job Description
Position Title Disability Support Specialist - 10 month Time Type Full time Position Summary and Qualifications Under the direction of the Director of Student Disability Services (SDS), the SDS Specialist has broad responsibility for ensuring that the University community understands and complies with federal and state statutes that affect conditions and educational opportunities for individuals with disabilities. The SDS Specialist works closely with the Director to oversee University-wide disability support services and provide equal access to curricular and co-curricular activities for all students who qualify for accommodations. The SDS Specialist works collaboratively with campus partners to foster academic and professional success for individuals with disabilities. This position is primarily on the Hawk Hill campus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as the main proctor and point of contact for all logistics for the Hawk Hill Testing Center Coordinate the scheduling, tracking and supervision of the Hawk Hill (HH) & University City (UC) Testing Centers, including communicating with professors about tests and exams proctored in the Testing Center in coordination with the students who utilize the Testing Centers. Ensure the academic integrity of the HH Testing Center by closely monitoring all transactions with exams including the proctoring of the exams, maintaining confidential security of the exams, and reporting incidents of academic dishonesty when applicable Recruit, hire, and train graduate assistants who provide exam proctoring at HH & UC Testing Centers Organize Workforce Recruitment Program (Summer Federal internships for students with disabilities) in collaboration with the Career Center Serve as a University contact for current and prospective students and parents regarding accommodations for students with disabilities.
