Dispatcher

Overview We are seeking a Dispatcher with excellent customer service skills to join our team. Dispatchers serve as the central communication point for drivers, customers, and service teams, ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery of services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for logistics and excellent communication skills. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and development. Responsibilities Receiving and logging calls from customers or management and dispatching appropriate personnel or vehicles Communicate with customers via phone, email, and in-person to provide exceptional service Scheduling and coordinating transportation or service operations, including deliveries, pickups, and emergency responses Assist customers with scheduled pickup inquiries and provide timely updates on arrival time Monitoring real-time operations, tracking vehicles or personnel using GPS, GPRS, and our tracking systems Route planning and optimization to minimize delays, fuel consumption, and operational costs and adjusting if needed. Resolving issues or conflicts that arise during operations, making quick decisions under pressure Maintaining accurate records of dispatch activities, service requests, new driver training, scale tickets and vehicle locations Collaborating with other departments, such as customer service, mechanics or project managers, to ensure seamless operations Prepare weekly reports such as fuel consumption, and manage work order system Qualifications Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to relay instructions clearly and maintain professional interactions Organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple requests and schedules simultaneously Problem-solving and decision-making skills to handle emergencies and operational challenges Knowledge of geographic areas, traffic regulations, and route planning High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or dispatching are advantageous Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and other technology tools Job Type: Full-time Pay: $62,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year Benefits 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Experience: Dispatching: 1 year (Preferred) Ability to Relocate: Hyattsville, MD 20781: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
