Job Description
Astoria, New York ID j-1915 Job Type Direct Hire Remote Type On-Site District Area Service Manager Position Summary The District Area Manager works directly under and reports to Joseph Sena. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day service operations within an assigned district, including management of field personnel, customer relationships, maintenance performance, and regulatory compliance across a portfolio of approximately 900 to 1000 elevators. The District Manager is supported by an administrative assistant who’s role is to assist with working with field technicians and tracking open deficiencies. Key Responsibilities Directly manage and support approximately 10 to 14 service mechanics and 1 supervisor. Oversee service operations for a portfolio of approximately 900 to 1000 elevators. Ensure all maintenance work is performed in accordance with company standards, safety requirements, and contractual obligations. Coordinate and track monthly maintenance to ensure all elevators receive required service in accordance with contract terms. Communicate regularly with building owners, property managers, and superintendents to facilitate maintenance services, address service concerns, and maintain strong client relationships. Coordinate and follow up on repair proposals, approvals, and scheduling. Manage the timely delivery of maintenance and emergency parts to minimize equipment downtime. Assist in the coordination and completion of Category 1 inspections and correction of periodic inspection deficiencies. Monitor call-back activity and implement corrective measures to improve reliability and performance. Support emergency response efforts and ensure customer satisfaction during service interruptions. Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to service performance, contract compliance, and regulatory requirements. Perform weekly standby coverage on a rotating schedule. Conduct weekly area management meetings to review open deficiencies and required deadlines. Qualifications Strong knowledge of elevator maintenance and service operations. Proven experience supervising field personnel in a service-driven environment. Ability to manage multiple properties, priorities, and urgent situations simultaneously. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Familiarity with NYC code requirements, including Category 1 inspections and periodic deficiency corrections.
