Job Overview We are looking a dependable, compassionate groomer to join our team at our busy grooming salon. You must take pride in your work, treat everyone with respect, every dog with care, and maintain a clean and positive salon environment. Pay is commission based, with 5 paid holidays after six months. Saturdays are required Sharpening allowance provided Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, clipping, and styling according to breed standards and customer preferences Assess each dog’s coat condition, skin health, and temperament to tailor grooming techniques appropriately Handle dogs safely using proper animal restraint and handling techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming sessions Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming requests and provide advice on pet care and maintenance Maintain a clean, organized grooming station by sanitizing tools and work areas regularly Monitor dogs for signs of health issues or discomfort during grooming and report concerns to veterinary staff or pet owners Assist with pet care routines such as ear cleaning, nail trimming, and basic veterinary-related tasks when needed Requirements MINIMUM ONE YEAR OF PROFESSIONAL GROOMING EXPERIENCE STRONG ORGANIZATION AND ATTENTION TO CLEANLINESS Everyone helps with end of day cleaning Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of dog handling and animal care techniques Knowledge of dog training principles and veterinary experience is highly desirable Familiarity with animal restraint methods, pet sitting, kennel experience, and heavy lifting required for handling larger breeds Excellent customer service skills to engage pet owners professionally and courteously Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong animal handling skills with patience and compassion for dogs of all temperaments Physical stamina for standing long hours, lifting heavy dogs, and performing detailed grooming tasks consistently Join us in creating a joyful experience for pets and their owners!
