Dog Handler

Overview Haulin’ Auss Geese Control LLC is currently looking for part-time dog handlers to use highly trained Australian Shepherd’s (a herding breed), to chase away unwanted Canada Geese from properties across Long Island, NY. Dogs and work vehicle will be supplied. Must have own transportation to and from the kennel. Must have a functional smartphone that can be plugged into our work vehicles carplay for GPS. Prefer someone who has lots of experience with dogs, and also isn't opposed to working outside in all weather conditions. Please send resume with work experience. Wage per hour starts at $17.50 but will increase after the 3 month probation period. Must have clean license for 5 or more years and be at least 25 years of age. Drug testing will be performed prior to being hired. Responsibilities Chase Canada Geese off properties by using Haulin’ Auss Geese Control’s highly trained dogs. Training with the dogs will be provided. Handle and care for dogs with compassion and professionalism. -Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of work vehicles after every shift (keep employee car free from garbage, no smoking, etc.) Be able to drive long periods of time, and to log the amount of geese on each property. If there are geese droppings, employee must clean up paved surfaces with supplied pooper scoopers. Requirements -Working smartphone to use in work vehicles for GPS that use apple carplay or android auto. -Enhanced license Experience in dog handling, animal handling, or related fields is preferred Knowledge of pet care practices and basic animal behavior Strong customer service skills Ability to work well in a team environment Certification or training in veterinary assistance or animal care is a plus Qualifications Kennel experience Animal handling skills Customer service experience Ability to handle dogs safely and effectively Familiarity with animal care and restraint techniques Willingness to perform heavy lifting tasks Previous experience in pet care or veterinary settings is a plus Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour Benefits 401(k) Paid time off Application Question(s): Please don’t apply if under 25 years old.
