Dog Trainer – Sit Now Stay (Lenexa, KS) About Us: Sit Now Stay is a professional dog training and enrichment center in Lenexa, KS. Position Summary: We are seeking a passionate and reliable Dog Trainer to join our team. This role involves hands-on work with dogs of all breeds and sizes in our training programs, as well as coaching pet parents on how to carry training over into the home. Experience is required. We are seeking someone who has has experience in training dogs, performing group classes and private lessons. Must have strong communication and organizational skills. This job is physically demanding. Must be able to be on your feet for 8 hours. Key Responsibilities: Train dogs in obedience, manners, and behavior modification using positive, effective methods. Conduct individual lessons, group classes, and in-facility training programs. Coach pet parents with clear communication, demonstrations, and homework assignments. Maintain accurate training notes and progress reports for each dog. Support the team in daily facility operations, including cleaning, feeding, and supervising dogs as needed. Continue personal growth as a trainer through ongoing education and skill development. Qualifications: Prior dog training and animal handling experience is required. Strong communication and teaching skills—comfortable working with both dogs and people. Ability to work on your feet, lift up to 50 lbs, and safely handle dogs of all sizes. Team-player mindset, dependable, and eager to learn. Schedule will require you to work both Saturday and Sunday with two days off during the week.
