Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee the nursing operations within our healthcare facility.The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of assisted living, nursing home, home health, hospice care, and acute care environments.This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in nursing administration, supervision, and compliance with healthcare regulations.The DON will ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care, manage nursing staff effectively, and uphold standards for documentation, medical records, and regulatory compliance.Duties Lead and coordinate nursing services across all shifts, ensuring consistent delivery of exceptional resident care.Develop, review, and update individualized care plans in accordance with residents' needs and regulatory requirements.Supervise nursing staff, providing mentorship, performance evaluations, and ongoing training to foster professional growth.Oversee the management of medical records and documentation review to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize resident outcomes and ensure adherence to Medicare and other funding guidelines.Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems efficiently for documentation and reporting purposes.Monitor shift management to maintain optimal staffing levels while controlling costs and ensuring quality care delivery.Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations including physiology knowledge, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and HIPAA standards.Skills Extensive experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health services, hospice care, or acute care settings.Proven leadership skills with supervising experience in a healthcare environment; capable of managing large teams effectively.Strong knowledge of nursing administration principles along with familiarity with care plans development and implementation.Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation review and medical records management.In-depth understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and Medicare regulations relevant to resident care.Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration among staff members, residents' families, and healthcare providers.Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.Join us in leading compassionate nursing teams dedicated to enhancing the lives of our residents through exemplary care management!
