Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks to deliver freight efficiently and on time. Your expertise in commercial driving, route planning, and vehicle handling will ensure smooth deliveries across diverse routes. Duties Safely operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other freight vehicles. Load and unload cargo with precision, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight to prevent damage during transit. Follow designated routes and schedules, adjusting as necessary to meet delivery deadlines while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs and ensure roadworthiness. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance reports. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries, providing timely updates on progress or delays. Operate specialized equipment such as forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading freight. Qualifications Proven experience in truck driving or commercial driving roles with a focus on freight delivery. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle types operated (e.g., tanker, flatbed). Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks is preferred. Experience driving refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable. Knowledge of load securement techniques and safety protocols for various freight types. Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks. Strong route planning skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions. Physical capability to load/unload cargo manually or with equipment like forklifts when required.
