About the Opportunity The Driver, Specialized OTR is responsible for the safe and professional transportation of goods using a variety of trailer types. This role requires expertise in handling sensitive cargo with attention to detail and commitment to high service standards. The position contributes to the organization by ensuring secure, timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The driver plays a key role in customer satisfaction through careful cargo handling and effective communication. Responsibilities Safely operate Open Deck, Oversized, Flat Bed, Dry Van, Hydraulic Roller, and Conestoga trailers. Follow load requirements, company protocols, and state/federal regulations. Handle cargo with care, secure loads properly, and prevent damage during transport. Maintain clean and presentable vehicle condition. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues. Plan efficient routes considering traffic and weather conditions. Comply with Federal and State Safety regulations. Keep accurate records of hours, miles driven, and cargo per DOT rules. Communicate professionally with dispatchers and customers. Maintain delivery records, including logs, Bills of Lading, and compliance paperwork. Tarp and strap loads as necessary. Regularly check load securement during transport and adjust as needed. Engage with clients professionally, providing updates and resolving issues. Assist with loading and unloading cargo using appropriate tools. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Meet D.O.T. qualification requirements, FMCSR 391.41. Minimum of 2 years CDL A driving experience. Experience with load securement, route planning, and diverse road conditions. Strong customer service skills and care in handling sensitive cargo. CDL A License. Must have or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card within 90 days of hire. Compensation & Benefits Compensation Starting Rate: $0.72 to $0.75 CPM (Cents Per Mile) based on experience. Final pay determinations are made based on experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
