Drop Bury Technician

Job OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drop Bury Technician to join our dynamic team.In this role, you will be responsible for safely installing, burying, and maintaining underground fiber optic and telecommunication cables.Your expertise will ensure the reliable delivery of high-speed internet, telephony, and network infrastructure services to our customers.This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors with heavy equipment and cutting-edge technology, contributing directly to the expansion of essential communication networks.Your hands-on skills and commitment to safety will help us deliver seamless connectivity solutions across diverse environments.This is a 1099 position and pay is set on a production scale per types of jobs completed Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as trenchers to dig trenches and prepare sites for cable installation, as well as stick bore machine with an XPS25.Bury fiber optic cables, telecommunication lines, and low voltage wiring according to schematics and technical specifications Use hand tools and power tools to assist with cable splicing, termination, and testing procedures Conduct fiber splicing and troubleshooting to maintain optimal network performance Adhere strictly to safety protocols related to electrical work, construction sites, and working with power tools Document installation progress, complete reports, and update records in accordance with company standards Collaborate with team members on project timelines and site logistics to ensure efficient workflow Experience Proven experience in field service roles involving heavy equipment operation and construction activities Knowledge of telecommunication systems, cabling techniques, fiber splicing, and network infrastructure installation Familiarity with Vermeer XPS25 Vibratory Plow with Stick Bore attachment and/or familiarity with Ditch Witch 100sx Vibratory Plow Familiarity with Oracle Field Service APP is a plus but not required Understanding of electrical safety standards and practices related to low voltage wiring and power tools Requirements Must have valid driver's license, registration and proof of insurance Must have a reliable truck capable of pulling a single axle trailer and equipment (approximately 2,000 to 3,000 pounds depending on equipment Must have standard set of tools for regularly scheduled equipment maintenance.Bury and Bore specific tools will be provided Strong customer service skills Ability to problem solve and work independently Must be able to pass a background check and drug test upon request Join us in building reliable communication networks that connect communities!
