Position Title : Early Childhood Education Specialist Department: Early Learning Location: antkwak Early Learning Center Compensation: Per negotiated contract, Licensed Salary Schedule (Range: $56,530 - $104,459 per year; DOE) Bargaining Unit: NWEA FTE: 1.0 - 192 days per year THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION - TENTATIVE WORK DATES ARE AUGUST 24, 2026 - APRIL 8, 2027 NW REGIONAL ESD'S MISSION STATEMENT: In partnership with the communities we serve, Northwest Regional ESD improves student learning by providing equitable access to high quality services and support. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: In alignment with the NWRESD's mission statement, this position provides educational programs and/or consultation to parents and community preschools, and meets the individual needs of children with disabilities and/or special needs, from birth to fi ve years of age. Operate on a highly varied schedule to plan and organize various activities to teach children with special needs, counsel parents, assess progress, and maintain required records. These activities include teaching in self-contained classrooms, home visits, family coaching, parent education, multidisciplinary team meetings, curriculum development, the preparation of Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), and assessment of progress and program effectiveness. QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Current Oregon Teaching License through TSPC in early childhood, elementary, special education, or related field; or ability to obtain license within timeline specified by district. Previous experience working with children with special needs. Valid Driver's License; available transportation and proof of auto insurance. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias Ability to exhibit professionalism and effective human relations Confer regularly with immediate supervisor Proficient in the use of computer and internet-based applications, including but not limited to email, internet software, Google Suite, and word processing (MS Word) Working knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). Ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with students, parents, school personnel, and mental health personnel. Experience and ability to utilize effective strategies in managing students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Include the following. Performs some or all of the following tasks. Other Duties may be assigned. A.
