Organization: Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program (DMS) Job Summary: In your pivotal role as Educational/Clinical Coordinator (EC/CC), you will be responsible for all aspects of the clinical education portion of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program and will often assist with various instructional aspects of classroom learning. You will oversee clinical experiences for students and support the program director with curricular implementation, competency evaluations, and ensuring high quality learning experiences for students. REQUIRED Bachelor’s degree Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification in Adult and Pediatric Echo Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in the program specialties Experience in clinical education of cardiac students Microsoft 365 (proficiency required in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); other MS 365 Program training will be provided along with student management system and learning management systems This is a salaried position with typical M-F daytime business hours. During the orientation phase as you train and become acclimated to your role, you will work on site in the office at VUMC Medical Center North located on 21st Ave. in Nashville, TN. You may then gradually transition to a hybrid format where you will have opportunities to perform independent work responsibilities remotely, while maintaining open communication with administration, staff, and students. DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The VUMC Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) Program was established under its current home in the VUMC Department of Radiology in 2002. The program achieved initial programmatic accreditation in 2004. Upon recognition by a programmatic accreditor, the DMS Program became one of the Vanderbilt University (VU) Allied Health Programs recognized by the University’s accreditor. Key Responsibilities Organization, coordination, and evaluation of the clinical education experience Communicates with existing clinical sites to ensure high quality clinical experiences, and regularly seeks opportunities for growth and development in new clinical experiences Assists in the planning and implementation for classroom instruction as needed Monitors student performance and competency completion of clinical and education experiences Supports Program Director and Program Faculty towards achieving program goals Technical Capabilities PROGRAM MANAGEMENT (INTERMEDIATE): Planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific program goals and objectives. PEER LEADERSHIP (INTERMEDIATE): The ability to show leadership and influence people of equal rank in an effort to accomplish team goals. FINANCIAL PROCESSES (INTERMEDIATE): Ability to monitor costs, expenses, and revenue as well as the ability to manage those costs and expenses in relation to budgeted amounts. QUALITY MANAGEMENT(INTERMEDIATE): Developing a systematic process of checking to see whether a process or service is meeting specific requirements. PROCESS IMPROVEMENT (INTERMEDIATE): Identifies, analyzes, and improves upon existing business processes for optimization and to meet standards of quality.
