EHS Manager

EHS Manager Manages and directs the plant’s safety, health and environmental programs. The Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager provides professional leadership and direction for the plant through the use of industry best practices. The EH&S Manager is responsible for compliance of safety, health and environmental programs, and coordination between operations, support groups, and senior leadership. The role embraces a strong commitment to safety as a core value and ensures compliance with all applicable Federal/State Regulations and EP Minerals HSE practices and procedures. Responsibilities: Safety Responsibilities Working safely is the first priority. Responsible to be the Safety leader for the Jackson, MS Operations as well as the Sanders and Aberdeen Mines. Follow all Federal and State safety regulations, and company safety policies and procedures Report potentially unsafe conditions; aid in correcting unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly. Accompanies all MSHA inspectors during any plant or mine inspections. Maintains MSHA certification & fulfills the role of primary on-site MSHA instructor. Oversees detailed area safety inspection programs at the mine and plant. Maintains, plans, and implements safety policy objectives that are aligned with corporate objectives. Maintains required compliance documentation as required by company policy, state, and federal laws, MSHA quarterly and annual reports. Performs random inspections of mine & plant work areas to identify & correct hazards that adversely affect operational safety. Performs quarterly dust sampling to detect concentrations of nuisance dusts and/or crystalline silica & test employees’ noise exposure for compliance with permissible exposure levels.
