Job Description
Description Under supervision performs electrocardiographic exams using a variety of ECG equipment and procedures. Performs stress testing using both exercise and pharmacologic modalities. Performs transcription of all dictated ECG interpretations. Assists in maintaining patient information/billing logs and electronic databases. Assists ECG Dept supervisor in carrying out transfers/merges within electronic storage database. Is able to research electronic and written medical record to abstract data in order to obtain correct diagnosis information and assign appropriate ICD10 codes to charges. Is able to research electronic and written medical record and ensure symptom documentation for ICD10 codes used. Performs charge reconciliation and correction in order to ensure correct patient billing. Utilizes knowledge of ECG interpretation to facilitate Transcription and QI process. We are hiring for EKG Technician position at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK! Position is Full-time, 0.9 FTE, Variable shift, 36 hours per week; flexibility for schedules is a must. This position is for mid-shift coverage with flex to night shift as needed. Weekends and holiday coverage expected. Apply today! Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association. 1 year Patient care experience in an acute care setting. Experience in operating standard office equipment. Preferred Qualifications: 2 years experience in ECG/Stress ECG in an acute hospital care setting. ECG transcription experience. ICD10 coding experience. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
