Job Description
Length of Assignment: 12 months - possibility to extend based on performance/position need Pay range: $33.33 - $36.00/Hr on W2 Job Purpose: The Resource Coordinators at client coordinate, schedule and deliver all of the Electric Distribution work to both internal and external field crews compliments for all RI. This role works closely with the Supervisors for the assigned linemen platforms or substations. Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities: To manage construction work and resource assignments in the most efficient, cost effective way to meet the work plan for the client, based on workforce availability, performance, geographic optimization and schedule optimization - this includes scheduling to full resource availability, in real time Responsible for scheduling and coordination of short and long-term Opex and Capital construction projects to both internal and external contractor crews, ensuring all customer and project need dates are met Utilize internal client systems in order to deliver a concise, yet all inclusive, project folder to an external contractor who will execute the field work when construction is outsourced. This includes ordering all material deliveries, providing job cards, drawings, forms, and also includes collecting asbuilts at work completion. Monitor work backlog in the area to insure timely completion of all projects Manage, balance and coordinate internal resources in order to optimize short- and long-term resource needs Monitor and review work undertaken by construction crews in order to ensure appropriate use of materials, equipment and resources to adhere to the schedule Identify scheduling and need date risks due to resource constraints, field conditions, material and or equipment issues, and recommend appropriate action Support divisional reliability activities by making sure all activities are scheduled and progressed Oversee the bundling and prioritization of contingency and maintenance work in order to capitalize on opportunity for efficiencies and maximize fleet utilization Facilitate construction meetings with stake holders to ensure optimum scheduling and compliance Act as the primary point of contact, providing advice guidance and support to relevant third parties in order to ensure everyone is informed and aware of changes to construction schedules and decisions/actions taken Should be able to develop relationships with key stakeholders in order to fully explain and support the implementation of *** policies and processes Understanding of Electrical Overhead & UG Line work, or Substation Work - there is normally a separation of duties within the department of Line vs Substation Resource Coordination Be available during storm events and have a regular emergency role Sr Qualifications: An Associates’ degree from a technical school is desired 4-6+ years’ related experience, preferably in the utility industry Knowledge and experience of scheduling, operations, project and program management Experience managing project teams and projects independently. Able to use direct persuasion to influence others to accept proposals. Knowledge and understanding of Rhode Island’s policies and practices and how to apply them effectively Planning skills including the ability to prioritize assignments Strong oral and written communication skills Demonstrate personal accountability for delivering performance excellence Demonstrate proficient computer skills in systems like; utility Work management and other Data Systems, as well as MS Office applications Ability to travel as required to various locations throughout RI with a Valid driver's license.
