About the Role: We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and integrate medium-voltage power distribution systems for modular solutions supporting mission-critical data centers and industrial applications, including oil & gas, renewables, energy storage (BESS), mining, and utilities. In this role, you will take ownership of electrical system design for complex projects, contributing to the development of safe, reliable, and scalable power solutions. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to deliver high-quality, code-compliant systems. Key Responsibilities Design power distribution systems, including one-line diagrams and overall system architecture for medium- and low-voltage applications Specify and size electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, transfer switches, and related components Support protection and coordination strategies, including short-circuit and arc-flash considerations Develop grounding and bonding approaches aligned with industry standards Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with mechanical, controls, and auxiliary systems Create and review electrical drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs) Ensure designs meet applicable NEC, UL, IEEE, and NFPA standards Support manufacturing, testing (FAT), commissioning, and field troubleshooting as needed Qualifications: Experience: 4+ years of experience in power distribution, industrial, utility, or mission-critical environments Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) Skills: Experience working with medium-voltage systems (5kV–35kV), including switchgear and protection concepts Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (NEC, UL, IEEE, NFPA) Experience with power system studies (short-circuit, coordination, arc-flash) is a plus Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar design tools Preferred Qualifications: Data center or critical power infrastructure design (e.g., redundancy strategies such as N+1 or 2N Familiarity with relay protection schemes or arc-resistant switchgear Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification. Mindset: A Maverick mentality—problem-solving, ownership, and a commitment to excellence Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods standing on the manufacturing floor and sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times. Work Environment: May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
