ELECTRICAL PRINCIPAL DESIGN ENGINEER – Greenville, SC 4500 Location: GREENVILLE, SC Duration: TBD Positions Available: 6 US Citizenship Required JOB SUMMARY: The Electrical Principal Design Engineer provides advanced technical leadership and oversight for complex electrical engineering projects. This role serves as a lead engineer responsible for ensuring technical accuracy, quality, and compliance across all phases of project execution within a multi-discipline EPC environment. The position involves performing engineering assignments of advanced complexity, providing supervision and mentorship to engineers and designers, and guiding technical decision-making to support project success. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: The Electrical Principal Design Engineer leads electrical engineering design efforts and resolves complex technical challenges in alignment with project requirements and applicable standards. Responsibilities include developing and reviewing specifications, engineering calculations, and design criteria for electrical systems. The role analyzes complex engineering problems, evaluates solutions, and makes independent technical recommendations. The position coordinates closely with project management, engineering disciplines, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to address technical issues and support project execution. Additional duties include supporting procurement activities such as preparing scopes of work, evaluating technical bids, and reviewing vendor submittals. The role also supports construction by responding to RFIs and resolving field issues. The engineer contributes to project planning through development of estimates, schedules, forecasting, and progress reporting, while maintaining compliance with project cost, schedule, and quality requirements. WORK HOURS: A standard 40-hour work week is expected. Additional schedule details will be provided by the client. Overtime may be required to meet project deliverables. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering required. Experience / Skills: Minimum fifteen (15) years of related engineering experience Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles and design practices Experience leading complex engineering efforts within industrial or EPC environments Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and standards, including DOE requirements Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and develop technical solutions Strong communication and leadership skills in multidisciplinary environments Candidate must possess experience with: Electrical system design including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and raceways Engineering calculations such as short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, and voltage drop Development and review of electrical design documents and specifications 3D modeling and 2D CADD tools in multi-discipline environments OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: U.S. Citizenship required Ability to work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements Strong attention to detail and ability to meet schedule commitments PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Professional Engineer (PE) license Experience supporting DOE or Federal Government projects Nuclear facility design experience under NQA-1 requirements Experience leading major EPC projects Proficiency with electrical design software such as ETAP or SmartPlant Electrical ACTION REQUIRED Please apply by uploading your resume using the link provided.
