ELECTRICAL PRINCIPAL DESIGNER – Greenville, SC Location: Greenville, SC Duration: 1 Year with renewal options Positions Available: 8 US Citizenship Required JOB SUMMARY: The Electrical Principal Designer provides advanced technical design expertise and leadership for complex electrical projects. This role serves as an Area Lead Designer or senior-level designer responsible for overseeing design activities, ensuring technical accuracy, and supporting project execution across all phases. The position performs advanced design assignments and provides guidance and oversight to other designers within a multi-discipline environment. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: The Electrical Principal Designer leads the development and execution of complex electrical design work in alignment with project requirements and industry standards. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing detailed design deliverables using 3D modeling and 2D CADD tools. The role ensures design quality, accuracy, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. The designer coordinates with engineering disciplines, project management, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to resolve technical design issues and support project progress. Additional responsibilities include performing material take-offs, supporting procurement activities through review of vendor submittals, and assisting with construction by responding to RFIs and implementing field changes. The position also provides leadership, mentorship, and supervision to junior designers while supporting project execution related to scope, cost, and schedule. WORK HOURS: A standard 40-hour work week is expected. Additional schedule details will be provided by the client. Overtime may be required to meet project deliverables. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Education: Associate degree in a related technical field required. Experience / Skills: Minimum fifteen (15) years of related design experience Advanced knowledge of electrical design principles and practices Extensive experience supporting large engineering or EPC projects Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes and standards Ability to lead and supervise design teams Strong communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams Candidate must possess experience with: Electrical design using 3D modeling and 2D CADD tools Development of detailed design drawings and layouts Electrical system components including grounding, lighting, raceways, and power distribution Material take-offs and design documentation Field walkdowns and incorporation of field changes into design OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: U.S. Citizenship required Ability to work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements Strong attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience supporting DOE or Federal Government projects Nuclear design experience under NQA-1 requirements Proficiency with tools such as Smart3D or MicroStation Practical field or construction experience Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, or nuclear facilities ACTION REQUIRED Please apply by uploading your resume using the link provided.
