Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Superintendent with specialized experience in electrical or fire alarm system installation to lead projects within a correctional environment. This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, strict adherence to quality standards, and the ability to operate within highly regulated, secure facilities. The ideal candidate will effectively collaborate with multiple superintendents and stakeholders to deliver complex projects safely and efficiently. This is a 6-month contract role with potential for extension, with OT included. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily electrical and fire alarm installation, maintenance, and repair activities within secure detention facilities. Maintain strict control of tools, keys, and materials to ensure safety and prevent unauthorized inmate access. Conduct daily inspections to ensure all work meets project specifications, applicable building codes, and NFPA standards. Coordinate with other trade superintendents, contractors, and facility personnel to manage schedules and resolve project conflicts. Lead safety meetings and enforce OSHA regulations as needed and institutional safety protocols, including Injury and Illness Prevention Programs (IIPP). Maintain accurate daily logs, monitor project progress, and prepare detailed reports for senior leadership. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrical Supervisor or Fire Alarm Installation Supervisor. Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening required for correctional facility access. Thoroughly understands NEC and NFPA codes in order to be compliant with standards. Preferred Skills: Project Management experience in fire alarm or security Experience working in a correctional facility
