Job Description
Location: Henrico, VA Job Type: Direct Hire Salary: Starting at $60,000 (higher based on experience) A growing manufacturing and engineering company in the Richmond area is seeking an experienced Electrical Test & Systems Technician for a long-term opportunity. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in electrical systems, controls, and product testing who enjoys troubleshooting and working in a fast-paced technical environment. We are looking for a motivated professional with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support testing operations across a variety of electromechanical systems and products. Key Responsibilities Execute and support electrical and functional testing procedures for production systems and components Set up and connect power, communication, and control wiring for testing activities Operate diagnostic and measurement equipment to capture and analyze test data Troubleshoot electrical systems, control circuits, and electronic assemblies Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation Maintain testing equipment and ensure all tools remain fully operational Support production timelines and adjust work priorities as needed to meet delivery goals Assist with RF shielding inspections, testing, and repair activities Work with three-phase power systems, motors, generators, relays, and control systems Support PLC-related troubleshooting and programming tasks Diagnose issues involving Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and automation systems Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience working with electrical, electronic, or industrial control systems Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Experience using electrical testing and monitoring equipment such as oscilloscopes, analyzers, and multimeters Strong communication and documentation skills Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance U.S. citizenship required Preferred Experience Experience with PLC systems and relay logic Knowledge of motor controls and generator systems RF testing or shielding repair experience Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus Mechatronics degree or technical certification preferred Licensed electrician experience is highly valued What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is dependable, technically capable, and comfortable working independently while supporting a collaborative engineering and production environment.
