Job Description To assess safety risks, ensure compliance with electrical codes, and troubleshoot critical systems like emergency power and medical equipment. To prioritize urgent repairs, coordinate with hospital staff to minimize disruptions, and document work for compliance, all while maintaining a safe and efficient healthcare environment. Qualifications High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience is required. Associates degree OR technical diploma in Electrical Systems, Electrical Technology or a related field is preferred. State of Alabama (or reciprocal state) Journeyman license or MC is required. City of Birmingham Journeyman or MC is required at the time of employment. ASHE Health Care Physical Environment Worker Certification required within six months of employment. Driving record should meet University underwriting guidelines to drive vehicle in performance of University business. Current guidelines include possession of a valid driver's license issued in the United States, at least 21 years of age and at least 3 years of driving experience. Must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
