Job Description
Division: Eskenazi Health Sub-Division: Hospital Req ID: 25562 Schedule : Full Time Shift : Days Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis. Job Role Summary The Electrophysiology Nurse Coordinator coordinates and facilitates scheduling of cardiac procedures at Eskenazi Health Services including cardiac catheterizations, pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICDs), trans-esophageal echos, and cardioversions. This position is also responsible for coordinating and facilitating the scheduling of cardiac procedures at Methodist Hospital including high risk cardiac catheterizations/interventions, ASD/PFO closures, EP studies/ablation, biventricular ICDs, and cardiovascular surgery. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Schedules patients for electrophysiology procedures. Completes pre-procedural screening and assures cases are scheduled in a timely manner. Coordinates care with other clinical services (i.e. anesthesia, hospitalist, and departmental leaders) as needed. Forwards outpatient referrals for prior authorization timely and provides clinical expertise when requested Supports patient throughput within the department. Communicates changes to the EP team, charge nurse, and departmental leaders to assure safe patient passage and efficient use of resources.
