The Athol Community Elementary School (ACES) is the largest school in the Athol Royalston Regional School District, with approximately 600 students and 80 staff. The physical campus was established a little over 10 years ago, and ACES boasts a bright and spacious, environmentally-responsive interior within a natural setting of playscapes, fields, surrounding woodlands, and neighborhoods. ACES staff and families collaborate to sustain the culture of inclusiveness and safe and supportive learning. It is also supported through DESE's Statewide System of Support due to underperforming status. With grades from PK-4, three substantially separate special education programs, and a faculty and staff devoted to meeting the needs of all learners, ACES is seeking a visionary and capable principal to be its next leader. The next principal of ACES will be dedicated to supporting staff through professional development and collegial conversations to improve instructional practices and student achievement outcomes. The successful candidate will be experienced in working with families and community members to lead ACES in its journey to continuous improvement. Performance Responsibilities: 1. Supervises and evaluates classroom instructional practices. Schedule and supervise all activities connected with Title 1. Plans, organizes, and directs the implementation of all school activities. Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school. Works with the Assistant Superintendent to ensure the effective implementation of the school system curriculum and mandated assessments. Establishes programs, classes, and schedules to meet student needs.
