Elementary Teacher – Hiring Now (K–5) Carter G. Woodson School | Winston-Salem, NC Start Date: August 3, 2026 Carter G. Woodson School is actively seeking passionate, highly effective Elementary Teachers (K–5) who are committed to academic excellence, rigorous instruction, scholar growth, and culturally responsive teaching practices. We are focused on developing scholars through rigorous instruction, strong relationships, and whole-child support. Position Overview The Elementary Teacher will deliver engaging, standards-based instruction that builds strong foundations in literacy, math, science, and social development. Teachers at CGW are expected to create joyful, structured, and high-expectation classrooms. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality instruction aligned to state standards Use data to drive instruction and student growth Create a positive, structured classroom culture Differentiate instruction for diverse learners Collaborate with grade-level and instructional teams Communicate regularly with families Support school-wide initiatives and student success programs Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field Valid North Carolina Teaching License (or eligibility for licensure) Minimum of 3 years of classroom teaching experience (preferred/required, based on your hiring standard) Strong classroom management and instructional delivery skills Demonstrated commitment to student achievement, equity, and culturally responsive teaching practices Ability to analyze data and use it to drive instructional decisions Strong collaboration, communication, and team engagement skills Why Join CGW?
