Include the following supplemental documents: Letter of interest; Current Resume; Three (3) recent letters of reference Copy of your Oregon Teaching License Copy of Unofficial College Transcripts SALARY: $46,665-$93,402 (non-PERS) $49,643-$99,362 (PERS) Job Purpose Statement/s: The Elementary Classroom Teacher is hired for the purpose/s of developing students’ academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implementing District approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. Job Qualifications & Licensure: BA/BS or higher degree (required) with a major in one or more of the following areas: Curriculum, Elementary Education, Reading, Early Childhood Education, or similar Valid Oregon Teaching License (Must meet Highly Qualified Requirements) Skills to motivate students, communicate with individuals from varied educational and cultural backgrounds, direct support personnel, evaluate performance. Knowledge of age appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum framework, education code, appropriate instructional subjects. Holds and maintains an appropriate license and endorsement(s) from the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission in the State of Oregon; and displays a willingness to teach any qualified subject area. Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Provide a variety of classroom techniques and methods. Promote high levels of achievement in relation to individual student abilities. Use techniques and methodologies appropriate to student abilities. Utilize current and relevant subject matter. Demonstrate knowledge of and abilities to use research-based principles of effective instruction. Organize instruction using learning objectives with clearly defined student outcomes. Employ teaching strategies congruent with planned student outcomes. Select teaching strategies emphasizing student involvement. Monitor student learning and pace instruction accordingly. Develop and maintain an environment conducive to effective student learning. Develop written rules of classroom behavior and communicate those rules to all students. Enforce written rules for classroom behavior. Communicate course goals and academic expectations to students. Provide for the health and safety of student in all instructional settings.
