Job Description
E3/RF Engineer Role We are seeking a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to join our team supporting electromagnetic environmental effects (E3) testing and design for naval systems. In this role, you’ll perform electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) assessments, develop and execute shielding effectiveness tests, and support the design and integration of next-generation RF sensors and systems. This position will focus on technical development, test execution, and innovation in the electromagnetic pulse (EMP), EMI/EMC, and RF antenna space. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in applied RF engineering and a passion for advancing defense technology through rigorous experimentation and modeling. Responsibilities: -Design, simulate, and fabricate RF components and antennas for defense applications -Support transient EMC/EMP test campaigns, including planning, instrumentation setup, and data analysis -Develop scripts in MATLAB and other tools to automate data acquisition and post-processing -Generate test plans, technical reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) -Operate and maintain RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers -Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers Required Qualifications -Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Physics, or a related discipline -5+ years of experience in RF systems design, EMC/EMI testing, or antenna development -Proficiency in RF test instrumentation and data analysis workflows -Familiarity with MATLAB, CST Studio Suite, and/or Ansys HFSS -Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills -U.S. Citizenship required Desired Qualifications -Prior experience supporting military or defense programs -Knowledge of MIL-STD EMC/EMI standards -Experience with data acquisition systems, custom instrumentation, or embedded programming (C/C++) Why Join This Team? Salary Range: $85,000–$120,000 (based on experience) EMC Engineer Role We seek a highly qualified and motivated RF Systems Engineer with expertise in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) to support developing, integrating, and testing Navy RF sensors and systems. The successful candidate will bring a strong foundation in electrical engineering or physics and hands-on experience in EMI/EMC processes and RF equipment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct research, development, testing, engineering, and integration of Navy RF sensors and systems. Perform electromagnetic interference (EMI) investigations, analysis, assessment, and control/mitigation strategies. Execute EMI/EMC testing and ensure systems meet compliance standards. Provide technical expertise in electric field propagation and spectrum management. Develop and refine MATLAB programming to support analytical and modeling efforts. Utilize RF equipment such as spectrum analyzers, real-time spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers with proficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address engineering challenges related to E3 (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects). Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with an RF focus or Physics with emphasis on EMI, electric field propagation, and/or EMC. Demonstrated experience in theoretical and practical aspects of RF system engineering. Proficiency in EMI/EMC analysis, testing, and problem investigation. Strong knowledge of spectrum and EMI/EMC assessment methodologies. Expertise in MATLAB programming and RF equipment operation. Security Clearance Requirements Must have an active SECRET clearance. Candidates with an interim clearance will be considered. Preferred Skills: Effective communication and teamwork capabilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
