Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under supervision of the site administrator, the EMT CTE Instructor will teach and train high school students in the fundamental skills and knowledge required for entry-level positions as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). Instruction will emphasize hands-on skill development, safety practices, and real-world applications. The curriculum includes anatomy and physiology, patient assessment, medical emergencies, trauma response, CPR, first aid, and professional ethics. Integrated throughout are employability skills and preparation for industry-recognized certifications. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: E = Essential Duties The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Curriculum Development Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum aligned with state and national EMT standards. E Update course materials regularly to reflect current industry standards and best practices. E Incorporate various teaching resources and methodologies to engage diverse learners effectively. E Instruction Deliver engaging, hands-on lessons focused on EMT concepts and skills. E Demonstrate and oversee essential EMT techniques, including patient care, use of medical equipment, and emergency response. E Foster a safe learning environment by enforcing health and safety regulations. E Maintain classroom and lab facilities to ensure functionality and safety. Create a culture of learning in your classroom. E Assessment Regularly assess student progress using diverse tools such as skill demonstrations, written exams, and scenario-based evaluations. E Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and adjust instruction to meet their needs.
