Position Summary We are seeking a high-caliber Emergency & Surgical DVM to join our clinical team. This role is specifically designed for the veterinarian who excels in the operating room and finds fulfillment in the fast-paced nature of urgent care. You will be responsible for managing a wide range of surgical cases and stabilizing patients with acute medical needs. Detailed Responsibilities Advanced Soft-Tissue Surgery: Perform emergency and elective surgeries including gastrotomies, splenectomies, and complex wound reconstructions. Acute Medical Management: Diagnose and treat internal medicine emergencies such as toxicity, respiratory distress, and acute gastrointestinal issues. Radiology & Diagnostics: Perform and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory results to formulate rapid treatment protocols. Client Consultation: Guide pet owners through difficult medical decisions with empathy, providing clear options and cost-effective solutions. Clinical Oversight: Manage the anesthesia and recovery process for all surgical patients, ensuring the highest standards of safety. Candidate Requirements Degree: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited program. Licensure: Valid Texas Veterinary License in good standing. Experience: 2+ years of experience in a surgical or emergency-focused role is highly preferred. Clinical Strength: Proven ability to handle high-pressure situations and make critical decisions independently. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse urban clientele and a tight-knit medical team.
