Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Financial Consultant / Analyst with a strong background in an employee benefits brokerage or benefits consulting firm. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in self-funded health plans, claims analysis, stop-loss insurance, and employer benefits financial modeling. This role requires strong analytical and consulting skills, including the ability to build financial models from scratch, analyze healthcare cost trends, and present strategic recommendations to HR leaders and executive stakeholders. Key Responsibilities · Build and maintain financial models for employer-sponsored health plans · Analyze medical and pharmacy claims data to identify cost drivers · Perform renewal projections and benefits cost forecasting · Evaluate self-funded plan performance and stop-loss arrangements · Support plan design recommendations and optimization strategies · Prepare client presentations and deliver insights to HR and executive teams · Collaborate with internal consultants and external carrier/vendor partners · Ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality in all financial reporting Required Qualifications · 7–10 years of experience in employee benefits consulting or brokerage environment · Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related field · Strong background in employee benefits financial analysis or actuarial-style modeling · Experience with self-funded health plans and stop-loss arrangements · Hands-on experience with claims analysis and renewal projections · Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (modeling from scratch required) · Strong communication skills with experience presenting to executive-level stakeholders Technical & Regulatory Knowledge · Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance plans · Self-funded insurance structures and funding strategies · Healthcare cost analysis and employer contribution modeling · Compliance knowledge: PPACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA Preferred Skills · Asana, Salesforce, Box, Craft (or similar tools) · Experience with actuarial or advanced financial modeling · ASA/FSA pursuit is a plus Key Competencies · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills · Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client projects · High attention to detail and accuracy · Strong project management and organizational skills · Ability to simplify complex financial concepts for non-technical audiences Pay: $95,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Disability insurance Health insurance Paid time off Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Application Question(s): Can you describe your experience working with self-funded health plans and stop-loss arrangements?
