We are seeking an experienced employment attorney to support our growing practiceAbout Mitchell Law Firm PCAt Mitchell Law Firm, we provide strategic legal counsel and comprehensive representation across a wide spectrum of industries and practice areas.Led by founding attorney Ryan Mitchell, our team handles complex legal matters with precision and foresight, serving clients both domestically and internationally.With a commitment to innovation, integrity, and results, we are the trusted partner that businesses and individuals rely on for their most critical legal needs.DescriptionEmployment Counseling & Litigation Attorney (Full-Time) — Fully RemotePosition Title: Employment Counseling & Litigation Attorney (Full-Time)Work location: Fully remote (with occasional in-person meetings/appearances as needed)Schedule: Full-time (Exempt)In-person needs: Primarily Southern California / Los Angeles area (as needed)Bar: California (Active, in good standing)Start Date: 1/1/2026About Mitchell Law Firm, P.C.Mitchell Law Firm provides strategic legal counsel and comprehensive representation across a wide spectrum of industries and practice areas, serving clients domestically and internationally.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced employment attorney to support our growing practice with a primary focus on:Employment litigation (pre-litigation through resolution, including administrative claims and court matters)This role is ideal for an attorney who can own matters, communicate clearly with clients, and deliver polished work product in a modern, remote environment.Core ResponsibilitiesEmployment Counseling (Employer-Side)Advise employers on day-to-day employment issues, including:Hiring practices, discipline and termination strategy, performance managementWage & hour compliance and classification (exempt/non-exempt; employee/contractor)Leaves of absence and accommodation processesWorkplace investigations, complaint response, and risk mitigationEmployee handbooks and policiesOffer letter, employment agreements, and contractor agreementsSeparation agreements and releases (as applicable)Employment LitigationHandle employment disputes from intake through resolution, including:Demand letters, early case assessment, settlement strategyDrafting pleadings, motions, and discoveryDepositions, mediations, arbitrations, and (as needed) court appearanceManage matters in state and federal court as appropriate, balancing strategic resolution with strong advocacy (consistent with firm approach to complex matters).Provide clear, practical risk assessments and keep clients informed on strategy, timelines, and budgets.Teamwork / Practice ManagementCollaborate with the Managing Partner and team to deliver excellent client service.Contribute to improving templates, workflows, and internal knowledge resources for a high-performing remote practice.Qualifications (Required)Active California Bar license in good standing3+ years (preferred 5+ years) of meaningful employment counseling and litigation experienceStrong legal writing skills (motions, discovery, and client advisory memos)Ability to independently manage deadlines and multiple mattersComfortable working fully remote using modern collaboration toolsPreferred ExperienceWage & hour, discrimination/harassment/retaliation, wrongful termination, and misclassification disputesAdministrative charge practice (e.g., agency responses and strategy)Experience supporting fast-moving employer clients (multi-issue counseling with practical solutions)Familiarity with California-specific employment risk areas and evolving compliance needsRemote Work and In-Person ExpectationsFully remote day-day.Must be willing and able to attend occasional in-person:Client meetingsMediations/depositionsCourt appearances (as needed)Compensation and BenefitsCompensation: $120,000–$150,000 base salary (DOE) + performance bonus opportunitiesMedical / dental / vision options401(k) or retirement plan optionsPaid time off + paid holidaysRemote office/technology stipendCLE budget + bar dues reimbursementMalpractice coverageMentorship and professional development supportEqual Opportunity EmployerMitchell Law Firm, P.C. is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of legally protected characteristics.
