EMS Associate Instructor – Brightpoint Community College Job Code: G0012 – Teaching/Research Faculty, Exempt, Full Time. 9‑month teaching position at Chesterfield and Midlothian campuses, with limited online instruction. Teach approximately 39‑42 credits per academic year. No student advising or committee duties. Responsibilities Provide on‑campus delivery of instructional courses in EMS, primarily daytime and evening sections. Prepare and execute lesson plans, assessments, and evaluate student performance. Maintain course materials, attendance records, and grading according to college policies. Collaborate with faculty and department staff to support student success. May be assigned other duties as needed, including emergency support as directed by state governance. Qualifications Certified Paramedic with a minimum of two (2) years of field experience. Associate’s degree or higher in EMS or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. Prior teaching experience in EMS; Education Coordinator credentials preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to work as part of a team. Flexibility to teach during day, evening, weekend, hybrid, and online sessions across multiple campuses. Successful background check required. Additional Considerations Education Coordinator certification, AHA and NAEMT Instructor credentials are advantageous. Eligibility to operate a state vehicle.
