Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The EMT will provide critical care and support to patients in emergency situations, ensuring timely and effective medical assistance. This role requires a strong understanding of emergency medicine, patient assessment, and the ability to perform under pressure in various environments, including hospitals, urgent care facilities, and during critical care transport. Duties Provide immediate care to patients in emergency situations, including airway management and basic life support. Conduct patient assessments to determine the severity of medical conditions and prioritize care based on triage protocols. Administer medications and injections as directed, ensuring adherence to medical terminology and aseptic techniques. Monitor vital signs and document patient information accurately for further evaluation by healthcare professionals. Assist with physical examinations and perform venipuncture when necessary. Collaborate with healthcare teams in Level I and Level II trauma centers to deliver comprehensive patient care. Maintain knowledge of anatomy and physiology to effectively address medical emergencies. Transport patients safely while providing ongoing assessment and care during critical care transport situations. Engage in heavy lifting as required when moving patients or medical equipment. Uphold high standards of professionalism while driving emergency vehicles in compliance with safety regulations. Requirements Previous EMT experience is essential; critical care experience is highly desirable. Familiarity with hospital settings, emergency rooms, urgent care facilities, and trauma centers is preferred. Strong skills in patient care, including experience with DME (Durable Medical Equipment) usage. Proficiency in administering injections, conducting physical examinations, and performing patient assessments. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and vital signs monitoring. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining composure in high-stress situations. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate emergency vehicles safely. Must be able to meet physical demands of the job including heavy lifting.
