Job Description
The Endocrinology Physicians at Independence Health System provide outpatient evaluation, treatment, and long-term management of endocrine and metabolic disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, and hormonal conditions. This physician delivers comprehensive, evidence-based care to adult patients through outpatient clinic visits, diagnostic evaluation, medication management, and ongoing monitoring of chronic endocrine conditions. Responsibilities include direct supervision of advanced practice providers, diagnostic interpretation, individualized treatment planning, and patient education. Physicians are required to be on call for the outpatient clinic on a regular rotation, which is shared with the advanced practice providers. Strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to high-quality chronic disease management are essential. The role also involves participation in quality improvement initiatives, adherence to regulatory and ethical standards, and ongoing professional development to maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in endocrine care. Required Qualifications / Experience Graduate of a medical school accredited by the LCME or ADA, OR Graduate of an AMA-governed Fifth Pathway program, OR Graduate of an international medical school with valid ECFMG certification. Successful completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited Internal Medicine residency program. Successful completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism fellowship program. Demonstrated strong leadership abilities with excellent organizational, independent, and critical-thinking skills. Sound clinical judgment with comprehensive knowledge of legal, ethical, and liability considerations related to the practice of medicine.
