Job Announcement Position Title: Endodontist Department: Dental Supervised By: Dental Director Location: Alpine Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly Posted: May 2026 Closing Date: Until Filled Compensation: $140 - $210/ per hour – Depending on number of days worked per month Grant: Yes Hours: Part Time: 2 -4 days per month (8:00AM-4:30PM) (optional days- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES : SIHC Dentists provide the highest standard of dental care for SIHC patients. SIHC provides dental care to children, adolescents and adults. Treatment of dental conditions, injuries, malfunctions of the oral cavity and related issues occur by clinical examination, radiographs, and review of medical history. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Examine all parts of the mouth including teeth, gums, and surrounding tissues to determine and properly diagnose endodontic related conditions and problems. The pulpal and periodontal diagnosis is obtained or confirmed before treatment is initiated with the assistance of the following: radiographic exam, periodontal probing, thermal testing, percussion/palpation testing, occlusal evaluation, etc. Performs initial, surgical and nonsurgical retreatment endodontic procedures for SIHC patients. Endodontic procedures may include, but are not limited to: open and medication, incise and drain, cleaning and shaping, obturation, MTA/bioceramic apical sealing or perforation repair, post space preparation or placement, build up placement, removal of existing posts/buildups, gutta percha or decay. All endodontic procedures performed using rubber dam isolation. The clinic will provide you with an assistant, microscope, hand/rotary files, EndoVac and instruments/equipment for warm vertical compaction. Oral manifestations of systemic diseases will be treated in conjunction with appropriate consultation and referral to the patient's physician. Attends continuing dental education to maintain current status of licenses and to be informed of new techniques and philosophies. Participates in all department educational development activities including but not limited to Quality Improvement, chart audits, referral follow up and departmental policies and procedures. Complies with all SIHC policies & procedures. Ability to work a flexible schedule may be required based on need. Schedule would include up to 5 treatments per day, and 5 limited evaluations per day. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS : Education/Experience : Current CA State License to practice Dentistry. Completion of advance certification in endodontics which has been approved by the American Dental Association/Commission on Dental Accreditation. At least 2 years of experience in private or clinical practice is preferred. Public Health experience preferred. Experience with Nextgen computer system preferred. CA radiation safety certified. Current DEA Controlled Substance Registration is required. Current CPR Certification. Valid Driver’s License. Must be at least 18 years old. Licenses/Certifications : A valid driver’s license required with application submission and must be maintained throughout employment. Current certifications and/or licenses appropriate to the position’s required education and profession. Character : Applicants must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Must be responsible and able to exercise good judgment, accept administrative supervision, pay attention to detail, follow instructions, while showing the ability to interact effectively and communicate with people in a professional and courteous manner.
