Job Description
Job Title: Engineer III - Medical Device Research & Development Location: Round Lake, IL (On-Site) Duration: 12-Month Contract (Potential for extension/conversion) Pay Rate: $44/hour W2 About the Role: We are seeking a motivated Engineer III to join our growing 5-member team in Round Lake, IL. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with 2–3 years of experience looking for a long-term home. While the title is "Engineer III," we are specifically targeting candidates at the BS level who are eager to grow, tackle high-volume projects, and contribute to meaningful medical device or pharmaceutical development. Key Responsibilities: Hands-on Lab Work: Perform engineering design and scientific testing/application of medical device products. Material Characterization: Operate and interpret data from various tools including DSC, Rheometer, TGA, DMA, Tensile/Hardness testers, GC-MS, HPLC, FTIR, and SEM. Technical Documentation: Execute protocols and author detailed reports following strict quality procedures. Support Class B Studies: Assist with change control and submission documentation for new devices. Process Support: Coordinate technical service requests and potentially support the extrusion lab (creating pellets, film, and tubing). Qualifications: Education: BS in Engineering or a related scientific field. (Entry-level MS/PhD candidates will be considered; however, the role is geared toward BS-level experience). Experience: 2–3 years of work experience in Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industries. Technical Skills: Proven experience with material method validation, testing, and chemical/optical characterization. Physical Requirement: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when working in the extrusion lab. Plus: Hands-on experience with extrusion is a significant advantage.
