JOB ATTENTION ALASKA RESIDENTS!The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Central Region Design & Engineering Services, is looking for an Engineering Assistant 3 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!What you will be doing: In this position, you will work under the direction of a registered professional engineer performing a variety of engineering duties, such as applying accepted and standard engineering practices associated with the location, design and construction of highway, traffic and other civil engineering projects. You will be a member of a team tasked with developing designs and bid-ready documents for highway-related transportation projects ranging in complexity. You will have the opportunity to travel to projects within southcentral Alaska and may be required to occasionally travel to remote communities in small aircraft.Our organization, mission, and culture: The DOT&PF mission is to "Keep Alaska Moving" and your role in this position is directly tied to the most critical aspects of the mission. The specific experience includes such work as an Engineering Assistant 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.Or: A bachelor's degree with a major in a branch of engineering from an institution not accredited by ABET.ANDAn Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate issued by a state or the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors; or verification of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.ANDTwo years of engineering, architectural or land surveying e
