As a member of the Leadership team, the Engineering Manager III is a highly strategic and encompassing role that provides leadership, vision, and strategies for all engineering, technology, & compliance activities. The position will provide organizational leadership for the new product development, sustaining, applications & compliance engineering teams while overseeing the development and implementation of robust processes and strategies to drive world class capabilities and is responsible for setting the vision and strategy for the group. This position will reside in Erie, PA and requires up to 25% travel. Reports to: Product Management & Engineering Director Key Focus Areas Provides technical direction and organizational leadership for all engineering activities for the team by providing team leadership, setting the overall vision, strategies, and driving their implementation, ensuring the organization’s goals and objectives are achieved. Define success metrics and execute against business objectives that are aligned with business unit strategy. Execute Product & Technology roadmaps to develop differentiated product vs. competitive landscape. Focus on ways to accelerate roadmap to increase speed to market for product launches. Set vision and strategy on technological opportunities, product and technology roadmaps. Provide execution oversight for important research, development, test and evaluation efforts. Manage team to deliver annual cost savings objectives. Work cross functionally with supply chain and operations team to prioritize projects and support resource allocation. Responsible for design intent of all engineering decisions, ensuring proper design considerations for compliance, company standards, customer requirements, and overall engineering principles. Broad base of general engineering knowledge and demonstrated track record driving results in high performance culture. Able to mentor and coach team in dimensional design & drawing standards, lab processes & procedures, engineering analysis tools & processes, mechanical & electrical engineering disciplines, and manufacturing methodologies. Lead compliance team in participation of applicable industry standard committees, round tables, and overall events. Become expert within applicable industry standards and how they relate to product portfolio. Build culture of continuous improvement within the engineering team. Set clear expectations with the team & drive accountability. Manage overall engineering department budget and identify resources to achieve desired department objectives. Align with cross functional team members and peers to ensure projects are executed on time, on scope, and on budget. Build high performing teams with continuous coaching, mentoring, teaching and talent development. Develop succession plans for key roles within the group. Qualifications / Requirements 10+ years total in engineering, with 5+ years in engineering leadership roles (multi‑discipline teams and people leadership). Proven ownership of new product development (NPD) and sustaining engineering lifecycles, from concept through launch and field support. Demonstrated success executing product & tech
