You will apply engineering principles & analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products. Responsibilities What you'll do... Support Manufacturing Process Engineering activity for Machining Processes Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to identify throughput constraints and continuously improve manufacturing processes Support troubleshooting activities on CNC, gantry and conveyor system down time issues with maintenance and the production team Use FIS plant monitoring software to review cycle times and downtime of equipment, review and follow up on issues for machine performance Investigate and reduce machining scrap Investigate and drive tool life improvements Develop action plans as required to investigate and prioritize quality concerns and verify corrective actions Lead and conduct process audits to ensure process discipline is consistent with procedures Create process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods and processes Ensure compliance to Plant, Corporate, Governmental and Environmental standards Work flexible shifts including afternoon shift or night shift, overtime and weekends as needed Qualifications You'll have... Bachelors Degree, Mechanical or Automation Engineering Effective oral and written communication skills 2 or more years with high volume aluminum CNC machining or equivalent manufacturing experience Experience with CNC control systems, G-code, offset tables Experience with automated gauging systems including variable air and electronic gauges, CMMs, and surface finish Experience with statistical process control analysis software including Q-DAS and Minitab Experience with process monitoring tools including vibration monitoring Demonstrated ability to read part prints, blueprints, modify drawings and use AutoCAD Validated ability to troubleshoot equipment and continuously evaluate for process improvements Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience 4D, 8D and 3L5W corrective action and problem-solving skills Solid understanding of Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping Knowledge of TQM and Kaizen Methods DCP, FMEA, PPAP, and DOEs experience Validated experience with Visual Factory Management One or more years of experience with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook) Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills Even better, you may have... Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Experience with various aluminum machining processes such as boring, drilling, reaming and tapping. Effective oral and written communication skills to collaborate with cross functional teams. Experience with project management, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. 8D and 5Why corrective action and problem-solving skills. Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping. DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) Project Methodology experience. TQM and Kaizen Methods. FMEA, PPAP, and DOEs experience. Experience with 3D printing capabilities and 3D modeling.
